Worcester Area Schools Project (WASP)
The aim of WASP is to take the Gospel into schools through the Worcester Area. A team of young volunteers from around the country tell the Good News of Jesus through music, dance, drama, testimony and Bible-based teaching.
Worcester City Mission
Members of WCM live in different parts of the city and worship in different churches, but have a shared vision and aims, which include: reaching out to those in need of Christ through the presentation of the Gospel message, working with the churches in Worcester for the good of the Gospel, providing a contact point and enabling needy people in various ways. WCM is involved in open-air outreach in the city, a Saturday evening soup run, and provision of clothing and furniture.
St Richard's Hospice
Founded in 1984, St Richard’s Hospice is established to enhance through palliative care the quality of life of those suffering from cancer and other life threatening illnesses. Serving the population of South Worcestershire, it cares for over 1,500 patients and their relatives each year. St Richard's is facing its biggest challenge to date as there is a desperate need for palliative care beds in the area. To meet this challenge, building work is underway on a new hospice at Wildwood Way, near County Hall, which is due to open to patients in the autumn of 2006. The cost of this exciting project has been met through fundraising, and almost three quarters of the future running costs will need to be raised from voluntary contributions through the local community. Your support is appreciated!
Magg's Day Centre
Maggs Day Centre, St. Albans Church, Deansway, Worcester WR1 2JD (Tel: 01905 25027 or 73161) provides food, shelter and support for homeless people.
