Join the team
Every week, people across our church give their time and energy to help create spaces where people can encounter Jesus.
Joining the team is one of the best ways to get more involved in the life of All Saints Worcester and to get to know more people in our community.
Every week, people across our church give their time and energy to help create spaces where people can encounter Jesus. From welcoming people at the door and making great coffee, to leading worship, running kids groups, praying with others, and setting up rooms — it all happens because people choose to play their part.
And the beautiful thing is this: as we serve, we encounter Jesus too.

The welcome and hospitality that people receive when entering church is so important to giving people a place of belonging. The host teams are instrumental to that.
From welcoming people on the doors, to serving refreshments, helping with communion, and other practical essentials to enable the gatherings to run. This is a team that anyone can find a place on, and is a great way to meet more of the community

Rich describes our monthly Hungry prayer and worship gatherings as the boiler house of the church. Prayer is key in all we do as a church, and being on the prayer team puts you front and centre of seeing God move amongst his people.
In joining the prayer team, you will be providing prayer ministry to the community in our Sunday gatherings, Hungry, and getting involved with other prayer events.
Although anyone can pray, and we encourage everyone to do so, this dedicated team holds an important place in the community so although it doesn't require a DBS, people joining need to be spiritually mature and trustworthy. The team must adhere to the prayer ministry training that we set for the safety of the community.

Are you free at times during the week, evenings or weekends and willing to lend a hand?
We have need of people willing to host and serve at one-off events that could be weddings and funerals, events that we host or are partnering with.
This is not a rota'd team. You'll be added to a list of people who have come forward and when an event appears, we will send out a request for help. If you're free, then great, and no problem if you're busy!
No Stress, no hassle, but much appreciated!

Can you sing? Can you play an instrument? Do you feel called to worship God in this particular way?
Phil and the worship band are always on the look out for new talent.
Also, as part of our resourcing church mandate, you may get the opportunity to visit other churches that we have ties to to assist with leading others into a place of worship.

Can you use a computer? Are you a techie? It's easy when you know how!
The tech team always needs more people. We only need a basic level of IT knowledge to help with the slides and live stream.
The sound desk needs a bit more technical knowledge but we will give training, and you'll be fine if you have a good dose of logic and a good ear for sound.

How did you find your faith? For many people it's through a course like Alpha. Its a safe space where people can come and ask questions about life, faith, God, the church etc.
We normally run up to three 8-week courses in a year and we need helpers to either lead or help in groups, and to help with refreshments. They are normally on a weekday evening. It's a great way to lead others to faith, and can give you a refresher at the same time. Can you help out on one course or maybe several?

St Helen's is open to the public on Fridays during term time from 10am-2pm for a dose of history and community over a cuppa tea!
Running alongside Artspace, these sessions offer an opportunity for visitors from far and wide to come in and see the space, and for us to engage with the local community.
We see on average around 15-25 people coming in during these weekly sessions, for a variety of reasons – from researching family history to enquiring about Alpha. To keep this going we are needing to recruit a couple more members to the rota, if you are free during term time Fridays, would you consider giving 5 hours a month to serve on this rota?

Want to serve but not sure how? - can you help with moving furniture, light DIY and general practical support? You may even be good at electrics or plumbing!
Mark our Ops manager is always on the look out for people who can lend a hand throughout the week and behind the scenes.
No rotas, just get added to an email list, and then when something needs doing you can get involved if you are able to. If you're busy, or unable to help with something, no problem, and maybe next time!

It's surprising what a difference the gardens and grounds make to first impressions (or the 100th impression) that people have of us. When people walk into church, we want to be as welcoming as possible, and part of that is keeping the grounds clear of weeds, and the gardens well tended.
We have a small dedicated team of helpers, but many hands lighten the load. If you're green fingered, we need your help!
-
Do you have some time available during the week? are you more of a 'back of house' person and still want to get involved somewhere?
There is a lot that happens behind the scenes and we're always looking for volunteers who are able to spare some regular time to help in the office. It will be an eye opener and you'll see the staff team in a new light!!

Our life groups form the church community outside of a Sunday gathering. They offer friendship and a transformative growth in their member's discipleship journey and spiritual life.
The life groups may have varying formats and look differently, but they all work for the members involved. be it round a dinner table, or want to delve regularly into the deeper nuts and bolts of theology. Other groups follow the teaching notes from the talks on a Sunday.
The key thing is that we have more people wanting to join groups than the current groups have space for!
We need leaders to start more groups in their homes. We can offer ongoing advice, training, resources and support.
This is a role that requires a high level of trust and integrity, as well as spiritual maturity. Chat to our Associate vicar James if you want to find out more.
